O’Donovan Celtic Studies Scholarships for Irish Students in Ireland, 2018

Scholarships: The School of Celtic Studies is able to offer two scholarships to be taken up in September and October 2018. Scholarship stipends currently are €25,000 per annum for scholars who hold a doctorate.

Host College/University: The School of Celtic Studies is dedicated to the study of Celtic languages throughout history, both written and spoken, as well as related history of cultural, social and legal issues.

Degree level: Scholarships are awarded.

Field of Study: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Celtic Studies.

Scholarship Award: Scholarship stipends currently are €25,000 per annum for scholars who hold a doctorate.

Nationalities: Irish students are eligible to apply. Scholarship can be taken in Ireland.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Applicants will normally hold a doctoral degree prior to taking up the scholarship.
  • If English is not your first language then you will need to show that your English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in your studies.

Applying procedure Instructions: A full CV together with an outline of the research which the applicant proposes to undertake (maximum of 1000 words), should be sent by post or via email. The applicant should also ensure that references from at least two referees who are qualified to testify as to her/his ability to carry out original research are also sent to the School Administrator.
